If you ever actually put this in a deck and happen to play vs somebody running cyclopses and you nail one of them, you'll feel as if you actually threw a Hail Mary spear into its eye. That alone makes this card cool.

My playgroup has a friend who plays Borborygmos Enraged in EDH. We're all running this just for him.

One gouge, glory. One gouge before I go Gouge, one gouge to leave behind Find one gouge, one last refrain Gouge, from a cyclops burning in pain.
Who wasted opportunity One gouge, he had the world at his feet Gouge, in the eye there was blood A young cyclops, found dead.
Eyes gouge, cyclops dies! Gouge, one tiny gouge One tiny gouge, gouge.

Woah, one thing someone else pointed out to me, in this art, the cyclops is on the ground, down for the count. Look at the background.

Was Polis Crasher that OP that they needed to make this? 1-mana instant removal?

The flavor... it got into his eye.
But seriously, don't hit my Borborygmos with it. I'm rather fond of the Gruul Clans' leader.

A word of advice: if you're at the Born of the Gods pre-release, and someone tells you she wants to smite your one-eyed monster, she's probably just trying to trick you into pumping your Ill-Tempered Cyclops so she can hit it with this.

Well done on the flavor of this one, - although I'm a little miffed since storywise it seems to be Elspeth who's throwing. Still, at least with this mechanic I can't see it being white. :P

People love this card and keep calling it a flavour win, a pinnacle of top down design. I'm sorry, but I'm just not seeing it.

Yeesh. Seems like a spear to the eye would usually kill someone, if not from continuing into the brain, then from bleeding out. Only -1/-1?
@anotherfan321 Very nice catch. And it's not the first time a black card has played with the viewer's orientation.
