Reminds me of Faces of Death 4.
Not the part where the natives sacrificed the guy and ripped out his heart, the part where the Vietnamese put a live husky puppy onto a cutting board and... and... :(

This card is just amazing.
I'm willing to bet that people who rated this 2 or 2.5 are the same that rated Phyrexian Tower 4...

Wow you guys are terrible. You rate this thing under a 3? An instant speed sacrifice can blow up an opponents attempt to remove something, if you had a spender like Orzhov Guildmage (Not the best example). But this thing can seriously ramp some mana at instant speed. Swing with your Grave Titan then blow it up for a Consuming Spirit, how is this a bad card? At least a 4/5

I rated this a 4/5. This card has much more potential than Dark Ritual, but it's more of a challenge to build around. With Dark Ritual you know what you are getting, a fixed amount. That makes deck design simpler. Sacrifice takes a little more care, so I can see why it's rated lower, even though it's a fantastic card.

Strictly worse than Burnt Offering. However, run both in UB to play Scornful Egotist face down, flip him, sacrifice him, and use the mana to play something like Phage the Untouchable. As early as turn 2 or 3.

It's rated 3 because it's not Dark ritual.
