I'm glad Alluring Siren isn't the only siren in MtG anymore. I hope to see more in the next two sets!

I think the abilities are a little too costly to make this card super-playable. It'll be a middling draft pick, I imagine.

If you have mana to spare it is an extremely useful in killing off pesky utility creatures.
The black ability can also incapacitate token deck.

Cheap flier with usable activated abilities? I'm fine with it.

Gotta love the activation costs that are clearly 1 extra so you will use Training Grounds :P

all attacking creatures not just one. seems very fun (and annoying if you're against it xP) in limited.

I didn't realize it was all attacking creatures at first. If standard isn't lightning fast I like to imagine this could go well in the control side board, taking down some tokens or emmisaries.

The tapping ability is brilliant regardless of the other cards abilities.

This card is damn solid.
A 1/2 flyer for two mana is awesome, and this siren also has many other uses.
You can activate her first ability to make an utility 1/1 attack, then block it with her.
Or you can block a 2/2 with her, then activate the second ability to shrivel your opponent's creatures.
And the second ability in general acts like an improved version of a single-turn Thunderstaff.

A very rare case where -X/-X might actually be more useful for reducing power in some situations.

For a brilliant short story about this card go to

If the link doesn't work, it's found in columns, uncharted realms, The Consequences of Attraction.

Ken Troop (story author) gives the goods.

Limited all-star, which I learned the hard way when someone beat my ass with three of these.

This is probably my favorite card in Theros, and now Born of the Gods, draft. It's fun and versatile. It kills X/1 creatures all day, kills bigger creatures with the help of another blocker, blunts offensives, messes up combat, and gives you incremental advantage. I hope one day to kill Brimaz, King of Oreskos with Shipwreck Singer and Returned Phalanx.

At least twice my opponents have attacked into it with a 2/2 (and other creatures), when it was untapped and had 1Black available. I have mixed feelings about that because I don't like cheap tricks, but obvious misplays are a part of the game. I've certainly made many.

Even within her own block she easily helps disable decks that rely on cards like Master of Waves or Brimaz. She decimates tokens and helps significantly weaken swarm tactics, as well as helps cripple their combat strategy.

I'd draft her without a second thought, she's well priced and has plenty of uses throughout a game. As for constructed use, she's definitely sideboard-worthy token hate, and her force attacker ability probably has plenty of uses early in the game when you have her out.
