I think WotC wants to slowly up the card count of Turbofog until you can play it in EDH.

I was really hoping this art was for a creature card since it's awesome.

They couldn't tack on at least Scry 1? I don't think they like maze's end decks

Costs more than Fog, but I like this better. With the knowledge that you are going to cast it, you can set up profitable blocks with creatures that otherwise would have needed to chump block. Fog effects don't really have to be low costed in terms of limited.

I guess this here is what we'd call the thinking man's Fog, because if you do it right you can take out one or more of their creatures through advantageous blocking, with the knowledge that you won't be taking damage yourself later. Still, I'm not smart enough to use it like that so for me it's just an expensive Fog.

Pretty much strictly worse than Druid's Deliverance, which was released just a couple of sets ago. It's still a Fog, though, so I will gladly play it in limited.

why didn't this cost 1 less? or scry 1 or 2, at least.

actually, with art like that and a name like "defend the hearth", It'd have been more flavorable to prevent damage dealt to you & to give creatures you control +0/+whatever until the end of turn... though i guess that'd make it a white card. Still this feels kind of like a wasted opportunity. There's already been like forty fog cards and this doesn't really add anything to the table that hasn't been done better before.

I give it a three for the versatility of the card I give it a five for the art. The art is like "come and get us"

You know what's the best? Having your opponent alpha strike and then dropping this, and then dropping a Master of Cruelties with haste the next turn. Yeah, I just did that.

I LOVE the art. The guy in the front's spear is almost 3D.

the warriors on the card appear to be all females, protecting their homes and children, nice touch.
