Obligatory post noting that Donate or Bazaar Trader will let you keep the stolen permanent.

"Well, I see you managed to get that nice Ral Zarek up to 7 counters. You won't mind if I borrow that for a minute?"

Plus, Release is a cool throwback to Razia's Purification, so it's a really cool card.

Goblin Electromancer lets you steal anything for two mana.

Expensive, but great combo on its own, grabbing anything your opponent has that you want to Release with.

If your opponent's planeswalker reaches its final stage, you can grab it and use it a turn before your opponent does. EVIL.

An Izzet Goblin ensla-er..riding A Selesnya Loxodon: Still a better love story than Twilight.

Let's be clear, Goblin Electromancer let's you cast fused sorcery and instant spells for as much as 2 less. In this case: 3BlueRedRedWhite.

In any case: yay for more planeswalker removal!

As if Zealous Con*** wasn't enough.. now there's 2 cards you need to be scared of when ticking up your planeswalkers.

*** hate these split cards.

@Jhyrryl That's incorrect. As much as I would like that, Electromancer being my favorite card from RTR, A fused split card is treated as one, multicolored spell. If something reduces the cost of spells cast, it is treated as a single spell. Likewise, counterspells counter the entire card (imagine remanding half of the card). Electromancer is no more effective.

Taking someone's stuff, using it, then throwing in to the 'yard. That's the American way. 4/5

Fused Catch & Release + Precursor Golem (& friends) = nobody gets to have permanents.

Steal lands that can be used for activated abilities of creatures stolen with Switeroo.

{5URRW} is a lot to pay for a glorified Slave of Bolas. This card, you really only want to play one or the other.

Catch is pretty nice but Release is not, and it doesn't really synergize very well.. you can't even use the permanent before sacrificing it. In a typical limited game, the fused card is 9 mana to destroy a permanent and possibly make them sacrifice a creature or a lucky artifact/enchantment more than you.. not exactly the strength you want from a 9 mana card.

I love this card in my Izzet deck. 3 mana to steal something? Sold! Or for a more direct approach, discard this with Blast of Genius for 9 direct damage. I have yet to actually fuse the thing.

Worst/Best way to use it is to steal a planeswalker RIGHT when they can use their ultimate.

Catch their ordeal enchantment, release it and collect your opponents prize.
