I don't know...since this is supposed to be played with the Evolve theme, i think it should have been a 0/0 that enters the battlefield with four +1/+1 counters on it instead.
Actually, considering the mana cost and ability, this drake might have started with Evolve instead of flying, thus getting his ability to fly as soon as you managed to put a fattie on the battlefield and make it a 5/5.

If you play Simic and you pull this, you play this.

4/5.
You: Play a bunch of cheap evolvers.
Opponent: Thinks they can deal with your growing, ground-based swarm.
You: Drop this.
Opponent: Scoops and Rage Quits.
You: An evil, sadistical smile.

This + Master biomancer = Evil Smile :3
This card is sort of build around card since alone its just a 4/4 flier for six. But when combined with the right cards it can become quite scary.

This and Favorable Winds. Favorable doesn't put counters on, but it is a pump enchantment, and these two have insane synergy.

This thing puts a very short clock on your opponent. Even with just one other creature, if it has counters, you're swinging for at least 7 or 8 through the air. Crowned Ceratok is the other creature Simic loves, making Evolve a very scary mechanic in limited.

As everyone's been saying, it's kooky in an evolve deck, but it's rather expensive, and evolve isn't the best mechanic. I Wonder if there's anything like it, but cheaper and more splashable...

this being a 4/4 with cmc of 6 is a bit pricey for me to be honest... But when it comes out after Master Biomancer is in play, coming in as a 6/6 flier is pretty BA in my book. It's worth it to have one of these in a Simic Deck. Flying creatures aren't exactly what people are prepared for most of the time.

Slam pick in Limited for Simic. Giving everything flying is a welcome addition to your draft deck, and even without that, he's a 4/4 flyer by himself, which isn't completely terrible for 6 mana. 4/5

Play this, "Congratulations your 1/2 Bond Beetle just learnt to fly!" also Festerhide Boar who knew pigs could fly?

The flavor text sounds like it came right off the bottom of a pokemon card.
The flavor! It is implying that the counters are their skull gems, being grafted onto Simic's subjects. Wizards your clever flavor texts sneak up on me all the time
