I don't understand the rating on this card. Here is a suggestion for you guys. Not every card is made for the format(s) you play. And it is not that hard to tell the difference. Do not rate a card based on the formats it's not designed for.
4.5/5 for commander.

A bit more tricky to use than the others (since it requires something good to have been played already), but very powerful if you can use it effectively. Great in Commander, where stupidly powerful cards show up more often.

This is going to be so annoying in EDH, haha.
Hmm, It appears the Primordials are filling the cycle gap left by Mirrodins Chancellors

4/5 just for the EDH possibilities. Probably not so hot in standard, though.

Imaging playing this against a Selesnya deck! Choose a spell with populate, populate this guy, repeat for each populating spell, now you have an army of 5/5 flyers, as well as half a dozen other effects to go along with it!

So much fun. Sometime I feel bad when my Mimeoplasm deck abuses these sorts of things. I casted Mimeoplasm eating this guy and krosan tusker gaining an 11/11 flying commander, but stole increasing savagery making it a 21/21 (instant lethal if it hits you), and rise from the grave grabbing my vorinclex. I had land open for a counterspell too.

I'm somewhat shocked that this is rated so low. Whenever i've cast this in EDH, its always been bomb. Sure its high priced, but most of the best things are! But the real crux that is the beauty of the Diluvian, is that once successfully cast, it will make your opponent regret every instant or sorcery spell they have ever played. That cultivate that ramped your green opponent into a dominant board position? Yours. That mortify that was used against your last, best creature? Yours. That Idyllic tutor that lead to a True Conviction? (which you could also use your new mortify against) Yours. (which i'd use to search for my future sight) Not to mention you now have a 5/5 blocker. With flying. That is value, and in magic, value is the virtue of greatness.

This card has some reliability issues, in that it's obviously completely hosed by graveyard hate. However it's also not a good card early on even if you manage to hit 7 mana early; unless you can find cheap ones like demonic tutor or such, you normally won't get much when this is used early, and lategame you need to be careful of graveyard hate.
It definitely has the highest potential power level of the 5 primordials though. If you get to steal good cards, this will just flat out end the game.

In my experience, terrible in edh. Never enough good spells in my opponents graveyards that I'd rather cast this than Concentrate, then just play the cards I draw.

Anyone else notice the inkblot-like halo above its head? Misprinted example
