This card seems outdated at first sight (think Counsel of the Soratami). But it's an instant and can target other players. Nevertheless I prefer Deep Analysis. (Freakin' censor!)

OK card remember the pre-release for this set traded one on these that day for a Vampiric Tutor, heck did not even know the Rarity back then in pre-releases...

why is this getting such a low rating? and such hating.
the reason it costs so much is because its instant draw, meaning you leave mana open during their turn, then if they play anything you dont decide to counter or respond to, you draw 2 cards at the end of their turn. that doesnt leave you tapped out when they want to play their bombs

at 4 mana it's un-used, at 3 mana it's broken. i don't know if i understand how that works.

Instant speed draw is good for control, and I run this card in any deck where I run both counters and card draw.
@ DaaNz Man, it's a shame that Mulldrifter doesn't have flash. (You don't know what "strictly" means.)
Still instant speed makes this > then divination. The only exception if your not playing with counterspells or other instants... No reason to pay extra for instant speed if your not taking advantage of untapped lands.

Frankly, this card sucked in comparison to impulse when it came out and it sucks now.

One of my least favorite cards ever. I remember getting this in Visions packs, and it was so damn common they were falling all over me, as though Wizards expected it to be a new staple or something...and Visions was printed on the weirdest, cheapest car stock on top of it, to the point that when you put it in a deck with normal cards you could tell what you were going to draw...and the art is possibly the worst ever. It's a fantasy game with dragons, bears, knights, etc...and we get Star Jones standing in front of a lazy red background...not even looking inspired.
Just...ugh.
