interesting effect, yet unfortunately the mana cost it too high considering the additional cost which is required for the increasing effectiveness...coming up with many permanents to sacrifice for the effect won't be easy if you can't use tokens. otherwise it would have found good use as winning-card in various token decks.

yeah neat card.. it doesn't let you discard to force the opponent to discard though.. still decent. I'm glad you can sac tokens because this card would get on my nerves.

It really should be able to sac tokens. Now it's just... not so good

I have never seen someone else use this card. Perhaps because it's forbidden to do so.
I used to have a token deck that used this and devouring greed. I was ignorant to the general errata of "card in play" to "nontoken permanent" at the time, though it makes sense since tokens are not cards.

You could combo with two nether traitors I think, if you could use the triggered ability during the spells resolution. That would require cabal coffers mana to make it useful.

I got hit with this in a casual EDH. My opponent was going to lose, so he used this as his parting shot. I responded to this spell casting with Beacon of Immortality. He sacrificed 26 permanents, and I decided to lose that much in life to retain my board position. It was crazy.

Play with Gravecrawler and a random zombie / zombie deck to turn this into Multikicker B: Opponent loses 2 life or discards card.

If it was an instant, would make a funny last gasp.
