Why not play Ward of bones and then this bad guy? That way, you pretty much control what gets to be put on the field. I might have to look into a deck based around this idea...

This can force people to sacrifice planeswalkers. Something the original Balance can't do. 4 mana isn't too bad, the same as Wrath of God and Armageddon.
