The Homelands version looks much more diabolical than the Fifth Edition one.

Really too slow to be of any use. Flying's a must, but there are way better white flyers.

Decent card, but would be more attractive at 2WW.

In a very low powered set, Abbey Gargoyles are top-notch. You get a BIG body (anything with combined power/toughness of 7 is big when we're discussing Homelands), plus two forms of evasion. Abbey Gargoyles are a bane to minotaurs, and the red legend trio of Eron the Relentless, Joven, and Chandler, and with the exception of Baron Sengir himself, no flyer in Homelands can take down Abbey Gargoyles alone.

This is a mediocre card. The CMC is a bit expensive for its abilities. It should be a 4/4 flying with protection from red for WW3. The WWW in the casting cost is a pretty big drawback, too. Overall, it's a 3/5. It's not a terrible card to thrown into a white deck.

So, to sum up:

- Abbey Gargoyles is by no means a good card. Generally, a 2.5 out of 5.
- Since Homelands is such a pathetically weak expansion, Abbery Gargoyles is a 4.5/5 within the set.

So, I'll give it a 3.5/5. Because it's one of the few Homelands cards that doesn't deserve to be tossed into a flaming inferno.

A surprisingly playable Homelands card.

I like it. And I the average rating is exactly 3.000, and I want to keep it that way.

Overcosted, as was almost everything in this set, but at least the idea was sound.

No mention of Opal Guardian at all yet?

A complete bomb in Homelands limited, which -- as we can all agree -- is the most popular limited format.

If you think Homelands isn't a good set, you don't truly understand the power held within it. Why else would they make Apocalypse Chime?

Because they knew that an all Homelands deck would be so strong, there needed to be a card you could carry at the ready to destroy the power of the Homelands.

Homelands...the best set in MtG.
