Fun in casual but for (4) it's not as powerful as some other larger greens out there.

Pretty much a wrath of god on the field for your opponent... sort of, I'd rather take a Platinum Angel over this 7CC... usually I think if I'd rather have the Angel over any 7CC or more cards.

This card was one of my favorites in the good ol' days... can't believe I traded it for a Darksteel Colossus :(

It looks like this card is now pointless under the new combat rules. It doesn't have deathtouch, so if it lures a bunch of large creatures with its second ability you won't have the option to assign only one damage to each creature.

It needs deathtouch added as errata to work as intended (or, preferably, reinstate combat damage on the stack)

Yet another card that the M10 rules changes have killed. This change was perhaps yet another sneaky way to make us buy new cards :(

It's kinda bad, it costs a mite bit too much.

In my very first deck back then I thought it was one of the best cards in the game.

Not the best card for its mana (certainly not any more), but it's fun to play.

Card sets that came out around this time were the beginning of the end of old or original Magic. You would never have seen a creature like this in Revised (C-ckatrice), Ice Age (Scaled Wurm), or The Dark. Legends might have had a Legend creature similar to this (though, likely with a worse efficiency : power ratio), but then it would be a Legend and not a possible 3- or 4-packer.

The rule about needing to distribute lethal damage before assigning damage to other creatures is incredibly annoying in this case and others like the Kashi-Tribe and Matsu-Tribe. They simply do not function as intended; I thought this was Wizard's prime consideration in changing rules.

Can anyone explain why they made this specific change (not damage on the stack)?

You'll have to figure out another way to give it a Lure-type ability, but Engulfing Slagwurm is otherwise much better.

Wow. Practically the same art as Worldgorger Dragon, as pointed out by another user. That's depressing.

Cant assign 1 point to multiple creatures if they have 2 or more toughness!!

It's threshold is actually not that bad; if you have some other fatties on the field with him, they will all go through, and then you'll choose which of his creatures die (and if he has any lowbies, kill them and whatever other creature you want). The latter is still not that useful though; you'll want to activate his ability when you're swinging to kill him with everything else.

If he cost less, he'd be a lot better than the 3 stars I gave him.
