May I steer you in the direction of my friends, the Eldrazi?

Useful with a bomb out, but I'd rather use the mana involved in playing/activating him to play... some more creatures.

sort of a win-more card. clunky and inefficient too. I don't like it

This guy makes blocking your creatures effectively a big headache. He likes teaming up with Ursapine.
Yes he is too slow for a duel, but in multiplayer, he is a rattlesnake that also buffs any creature that gets through on any opponent. "Double" is a scary concept in that format.

I guess Anurid Barkripper needs mentoring? Or did the mentor ride it in?

Double is good! It provides a benefit independent of the cost of activating the ability- that benefit scales with bigger creatures while the cost to use it remains static.

Everything is better with Illusionist's Bracers :)

I love this guy. He's very close friends with Thris, Gigantomancer, and Elder of Laurels.
I don't get why this guy get's hate. It doubles- it doesn't increase by a set value, which means in the right deck this guy is out of control. And in a deck with... say... mindshrieker and Rafiq...
