Seems pretty good to me. 5 mana in mono-red for 6, as I choose? It's a touch weaker than Roar of the Wurm, but if red had been bigger in Odyssey, this would have seen play. 4/5

the flashback cost is 6.
Still, I kind of like the flashback.

Althought theres always ways around cost, it seems to me this was made to be flashbacked. I dont see myself hard casting this without cost reducers.

Obviously terrible card these days, but could have marginal use in a mono red deck that valued high cmc

Might not be that bad in an Erratic Explosion deck. If it's Erraticed up it deals 10 damage. If you have to hardcast it, it's just as good as it would be anywhere else.

EDIT:

Wait, damn, Erratic Explosion drops things on the bottom of the library. Changing.

I can't stress enough how vital fire servant is to a burn deck

The six cost isn't bad. I'm thinking you could just use a Fireball or Comet Storm at that point to be almost as efficient however. I mean, this will always win out a bit, but the versatility and difficulty of discarding it makes it worth much less. Roar of the worm on the other hand, the worst that happens is you just ramp up to 7 mana, drop it turn 4ish, then again turn 5. Best that happens is you wild mongrel it into play about turn 3-4.

I feel sorry for whoever got this as their rare.

Discard it and you have six Scorching Spears to be played together!
I think I'd prefer Exile it to Blazing Shoal...

Honestly, I think it would have been pretty cool if both its regular cost and flashback cost were RedRedRedRedRedRed.

Is it just me, or do most of these boulders have evil-looking reptile scull faces on them?
Well, except for the one on the bottom right - that one's grinning happily.
Probably because he's a sadistic creep that enjoys blasting into his target to do that one damage.
Then again, the one on the bottom left seems to have the same attitude.

Discard with Kindle the Carnage and wipe the board - then it's in prime flashback position.
