awesome concept, fun to play with, but indeed too weak with no equipments or enchantements

I don't understand why the mines would leave play when the mine-layer does. It just doesn't make sense. He'd be kind of ridiculous if they didn't, but still.

This would be a good card, but that last sentence completely kills it. Control will just counter it or ignore it before it comes out, Aggro doesn't care about the lands and will either kill it with burn or bowl you over before you can deal with them, and combo will usually have some method of destroying the Dwarf. If they lasted after death, tho...

Combos with Mana Web and Pygmy Hippo. Those are just off the top of my head, could probably work on that combo more. Then again, this isn't invulnerable so why use it? "too easy to kill" indeed. Almost as easy to kill as Gleemax. Just use Naturalize after punching your enemy in the face. After all, splicing colors to make something unkillable is just rude.

mana short with this is just distgustingly cruel theres no black in the combo so it isnt evil but still mean.

Unfortunately it's a very weak companion for cc4, and all mined lands will be unharmed again once he's gone.
(Regarding flavor that part doesn't even make sense.
Well i'd be glad if it was like that in real life, but there are still mines and bombs from wars of past centuries that have to get discovered and defused these days - they obviously didn't just vanish when the layers and builders of them died.)

This guy teams up decently well with Ral Zarek. Lay a mine, tap the mined land (kaboom) and untap Mine Layer and have him lay another for your opponent to worry about next turn. The biggest problem aside from his general squishiness has been addressed already -- that last friggin sentence. Even if you've got 3 of these guys out laying mines, if one of them leaves, all mines inexplicably leave with him. :-/

Quite a bit of flaws, but there are some nice combos. In my Aurelia, the Warleader EDH for example, making two lands useless on my turn is just annoying.

One of the many reasons why Odyssey was awesome.
