@Ferlord: In fact is quite similar to the Zenith, but I wouldn't say that is a beginner's trap. A lot of "Draw X" cost 3 mana without even drawing a card, and the option to choose between drawing cards or dealing damages is quite unusual. I play a couple of those in my UR deck, and even if it isn't a perfect card, it gives me option, that I like very much. Izzet in the original Ravnica block wasn't very efficient, in change of versatility. Luckly, in Return, Izzet conditions are quite better, even if not perfect yet...

My favorite part of this is how the flavor text tells you that if you have Niv-Mizzit in play, you get both (no difference). Otherwise you're just not quite in tune with the fire mind.

I'm sorry, but drawing cards is so important that I always choose the first mode. I have other X spells like Red Sun's Zenith and Rakdos's Return that I'm more inclined to draw into and finish the opponent off with. Still, this card is really, really good.

man if only it had 'Entwine R' that would be so cool
This card isn't very good, in my opinion. Its Blaze effect is highly overcosted, and its Stroke of Genius effect is more color intensive, and loses its instant status, which is extremely important for draw cards; especially draw cards that cost a lot. It's true that you get the versatility of choosing, which is always nice, but it loses a lot of viability in the process. This card would be good if it was instant.
