I agree with Volcre.
This card is awful both regarding stats and artwork.
The shiftless flavor text tops that pathetic card off.
But don't be too harsh with it, though. Always remember, it's from Homelands.

Overcosted, but otherwise not bad. It's a 4/5 trampler. Without any colored mana requirements. If the casting cost was only reduced by 1, this would be decent, if not outright good.

BAD. Not even interesting to play with.

Playable in pauper with cards like Etherium Sculpter and Glassdust Hulk. The first makes this guy cheaper and the second becomes both stronger and unblockable when this is played.

But as has already been said, not a good card.

Bad, indeed. But let us not forget it's a Homelands common.

Also, it's funny to me to imagine Chandler plotting to steal this when there's like fifty Ebony Rhinos lying by the roadside at any given location.

I love how awkwardly the rhino is just kind of standing there in the art with a mono-colored background.

2/5. At least it has trample. Early artifact creatures were almost always over costed, with the exception of the swiftly banned Juggernaut, to prevent access to powerful creatures from colors that weren't mean to have them (especially Blue). Plus Artifacts had some of the best acceleration and support in the game--even having an entire block where each card in the set supports or hurts artifacts in one way or another (Antiquities). But why did I vote 2/5 on this card? Well, it is flavorful at least. And common. There's a lot of dumb older cards that are both weak (even for the time) and rare.

The story behind this card? Apparently its a true artifact from the old war on Ulgrotha that was discovered by a family of goblins and used as a bribe in a trial overseen by Eron the Relentless. Later it was stolen by Chandler and Joven.

I do enjoy how Homelands had a story for every one of its cards, or so it seems. Except, perhaps, Merchant Scroll. Ironically, its strongest card.

Terrible, though most artifact creatures were back then. Still, would have killed them to make it a 5/4 so its trample didn't seem so silly?

I'd rather have a Karn Liberated.

"That rhino would fetch us a tidy sum"

Amusingly, it currently sells for around $0.08 despite being out of print for nearly a decade. Oh well, Chandler, better luck next time.

I like the artwork. Shame about the cmc - p/t ratio.
