This is really good. I am a pro, so you could believe me when I tell you that there is little in life that is more satisfying than a nice little health boost after destroying the flyer of your choosing.

If my eyes do not deceive me this card is devouring a Winged Coatl.

This card is crap. It's super narrow, and the two life are mostly irrelevant. You can pick up one ortwo during a draft for the sideboard, but I wouldn't maindeck it. And for constructed it's unplayable anyway.

You probably shouldn't be using this card umm, err... ever. You remember Plummet? Yeah, this isn't Plummet. I'm also not sure I like how you gain 2 life rather flippantly. What's the flavor for that exactly? In Limited--in your Sideboard--it might work. In Standard/Pauper/Constructed? Never.

Okay-ish sideboard card in limited. That's some of the clunkiest flavor text I've ever read.

Feels like I've seen this art in a SciFi original movie.

Crushing Vines is still a card, right?

Passable kill spell for limited. A lot of worrisome creatures are fliers, and this gets rid of them. Of course, Plummet is better almost all the time - the 2 life gained is largely pointless.

Incidentally, that's not a spider in the art, but an amblypygid or whip spider.

Does this art make you think of conspicuous CGI?
It's like you're just playing magic and SUDDENLY LOW-POLY 3D TRANSFORMERS.

Green doesn't have too much to take care of fliers in Limited, and many of the fliers in the set are troublesome.
I feel like this should be main-boarded in draft till you face someone in Golgari or Rakdos.

Ooh, it's like Hideous End, except without something analogous to Bloodchief Ascension to make me want to play it, and it can't be a late-game cherrytap.

NIce to see a giant whip spider (note: not really a spider) on a card!

Useful in limited, but outclassed by Crushing Vines in standard.

I am novice, so you could believe when I tell you that little in life satisfies a nice little health boost after destroy the flyer of your choosing with removal spells. But is not good for Mono-Black controlo deck!

Personally, I'd prefer a cantrip to life gain on a card as relatively narrow as this. But oh well. As it is, this card isn't too bad.

Obvious sideboard card. Possibly maindeckable if you need the life, but you run the risk of playing a dead card, I'd advise against it.

Hmm, when Crushing Vines rotates out, could this card help save green from Esperia-based shenanigans?

... probably not to be honest.

Who wouldn't prefer to draw a card over measly 2 life? Limited filler, but still playable in constructed sideboard so 3/5

Man this is rated pretty low for a spell that actually does something. It's not good but I'd push it up to two stars at least.

And thus, the beginning and end of Artist BD.

Although this card isn't exactly flashy, its important to remember that each colour needs a way to deal with the plethora of fliers in every set. While White might get something like Abbey Griffin, and Blue might have an Air Servant, less flier-intensive colours have to resort to other methods to maintain the Colour Pie.

Red has its ever-present burn spells for flier removal, but Green doesn't get that kind of versatility when it comes to creature removal. So what do you do?

You tack a bonus on the end of the spell. And although 2 life might not seem like much (in most decks, it honestly isn't much), I think that it'll be a lot more welcome in the upcoming Theros set, and even in the current M14 set, where lifegain matters for triggering other effects.

Without cards like this, Green simply wouldn't have fair ground for Limited play.

A destroy creature instant is always good to have, the bit of lifegain tacked is just a bonus.
