If it would have been instant, it would be a strong card in limited. Now it's just meh.

Adding a step of power to Consume Strength requires...another *3* mana? Is WotC SURE about the metrics they used for this?

EDIT: And now I notice that this is a sorcery, rather than the instant Consume Strength was. Something's DEFINITELY up with the metrics...

...Okay, if you want to triple the effect of Leech Life (An already mediocre card), you don't TRIPLE THE COST and slow it down.

I mean, for christ's sake, you guys have already printed Cankerous Thirst. That card was meh at best. This is just...insulting.

For a moment, I thought Nissa was back.

If this is used correctly like how pros like me will use it, you will get a 6 power/toughness swing!

Thought it said, "Dovahkin elf"

Sorry.

Maybe if it was an instant.....

This being a sorcery greatly limits its playability in limited

Playable in limited, horrible in costructed. Consume strength was good, since it allowed two for ones for just three mana, while beeing an instant. Six mana is far too expensive.

Your probably made a face just like the elf on the artwork when you compared this card to Consume Strength.

"I can't believe they used my art for such a bad card." The guy who designed this card probably desired an early grave.

nah, too much for not enough. i'd rather put down a fatty for 6. if this was cmc4 (but still a sorcery), it'd be playable

As said, it's not worth a second look past the Limited tables, but in Limited this is expensive but reasonable. Removal is still removal, and -3/-3 will kill quite a few creatures you care about. It's a shame this isn't a sorcery but you can still get good value out of this by using the buff to make their blocking choices awful, or killing their only blocker so you can swing in unopposed (and then it doesn't really matter it's not an instant).

Read ability: Oh! Read mana cost: oh. Read card type: ...oh...

Limited playbility, but it's removal. When you're hard up for removal, you take what you can get.

Did they accidentally type 4 instead of 2 or something?

Geez this is more overcosted than Viridian Scout!

Because Cankerous Thirst was just too good, we needed to make it a sorcery, increase the cost by {2} and make the colors less flexible.

Love,

This is really good in draft. It's almost always a 2 for 1, and it's a REALLY good bomb for Rakdos. Splashing green for a 6 drop actually makes it easier to include. You get to shoot a dude and pump your Rakdos Cackler to a 5/5 who will almost always trade or get chumped.

Strictly worse than Cankerous Thirst, like, in every conceivable way.
Costs more
Always multicolor
Mandatory targets
Sorcery
Same rarity. If this had been a common I could understand, but this is terribad.

It should cost {1}{B}{G}, and be an instant, because it's just a Last Gasp put together with a Giant Growth. To make it cost double that is just crazy.

...anyone else spot the anagram in the flavor text? If you rearrange the letters in the word "Devkarin", you get "Dark Vine". Clever, WotC. Very clever.

Because the Golgari need ANOTHER overpriced way to make their creatures bigger at sorcery speed.
