Guaranteed to block a land-based attacker per turn. Otherwise, not too exciting, but Johannes Voss outdid himself in the art's "wow" factor.

Them some weak lions....

Go take a look at Grizzled Leotau and then look back at this. Even with vigilance, this just costs way too much.

It has some of the best art in the set, but this will basically never see play. Even in limited formats, 1/6 vigilance for 5 cmc is too weak.

Great art, but kind of stinks as a card.

Love the art, love vigilance, but were they defanged?

Power should be more like 3, but it gets points for art.

Approach in peace or in pieces.

It could be far worse than this decent rear-ended lion. We could have Siege Mastodon.

Which would you prefer? This or Serra Angel (for practically the same cost)

Strictly furrier than Border Patrol.

Say what you want but this card is a great defender. I am a pro and will consider using this in certain decks.

This card is a fine defender if that's what you're looking for. All the "lolnoobIamPro" comments here forget that there need to be cards that introduce players to 1. how cards work, and 2. why some cards are better than others. This card does that. No, it isn't a card that will see competitive play, but that isn't how it's designed. It's a good card for what it is supposed to be.

And the art is great.

Savannah Lions gets 2 power; why do these guys only get 1?

I'd love the art if the head of the lion on the right didn't look so odd.

What's the use of Vigilance, when there's no point attacking with it in the first place? Walls don't tap to attack, either.

Strictly Border Patrol?

Not seeing much use for either, there's just no threat to a 5-drop that only swings for one when you could put Serra Angel out instead (barring multicolor decks if you can't afford the WW), which has evasion, damage, and is freaking Serra Angel.

This would go well in a Doran deck, where it would be effectively a 6/6 vigilance creature. But there must be a lot of other cards that would be more suited such as Sun Titan. On its own not very good.

Should have had Exalted!

It's really funny how two lions combine to deal damage equal to an Eager Cadet.

Needs something more. IMO Double strike would make sense here theme-wise and would make this card worthy of putting in decks for pump shenanigans. Exalted was another good suggestion. Just. . .something.

As it is now the wonderful art is wasted, it'll see some late round drafts, maybe. Even casual players will have to work to justify this in their decks.
