This card was made only for the art. The art was showed to R&D near the sets deadline, and they hastily made a card they knew wouldn't be broken. I mean, you can't look at that and not be amused.

That is one angry minotaur.

Whatever happened to minotaurs, anyways? They need to bring back lesser used tribes intead of shoehorning goblins/elves/humans/whatever into every block.

It's like an unnecessarily mutual version of Natural Selection.
Yet the emotions on the art don't look that mutual, to say the least...
Squee better makes sure he has his toy prepared for what Tahngarth is about to do with him.

You guys don't seem to get it: Red NEVER gets these kinds of effects, and usually couldn't care less about the top 3 cards of their library. They should all be different flavors of burn anyways.

I consider this to be the worst card ever printed. (In terms of power and user-friendliness, not art necessarily). We all knew it would either be a red or green card... right? So here's the breakdown: Tahngarth's Glare costs you a card just to look at your opponent's next 3 cards, while allowing your opponent to do the same and put you in a worse position. Your opponent doesn't lose a card and doesn't have to spend mana. This card has got to be a joke from the "Wizards". At least Natural Selection doesn't let your opponent peek at your deck. And red has had Orcish Spy from eons ago which lets you look at the top 3 cards of ANY player's library, every single turn, and your opponent doesn't get that advantage.

@ DoragonShinzui - First, it doesn't matter if a color "never gets those effects". There is no excuse to make extremely weak cards like these. Second, take a look at the older Orcish Spy. That's when they got this effect for red just right. Forget about the trite, bland "Color Pie". All 5 colors used to be much more entertaining before they screwed it all up.

I initially read this as the opponent getting to rearrange the top 3 cards of their own library after you did the same, which would make this card help your opponent and probably be the worst card in existence. What it actually does really isn't much better

Admittedly terrible in 1 v 1, in multiplayer you can usually find someone willing to set up your draws to your advantage while you improve theirs.

You can also use a fetch land to re-randomize your own draw afterwards.

That still isn't much, and is probably slightly worse than index.
