This just cannot compare to Fleshbag Marauder especially with such an unsupported creature type as horror.

@lorendorky
Art's pretty badass, though.

This guy makes a pretty good edict when you have Heartless Summoning.

I agree with lorendrky. Flashbag marauder is just much better. Especially in a set like this, with tons of tokens, it's less likely that you will force an opponent to sac something meaningful.

Pros like me say "nonsense" to the naysayers. Use this to sac your scavenge creatures.

Wonderful in limited. Performs splendidly. It does indeed work well with scavenge, though in constructed, theres no well in hell its worth a 4 drop. There needs to be quite a bit more convincing if im spending that much mana on nontargeted removal. Unless of course, im using a deck where that mechanic is the central strategy. Although, it IS in standard with restoration angel and cloudshift. Speaking of black white, who else isexcited as all hell for new orzhov?

While there are better sacrifice effects running around right now, this still isn't bad.

Chozoghost has the right idea, in an environment with Heartless Summoning, Fleshbag Marauder would actually be worse. You then lose two creatures, a nice one-two punch with Tribute to hunger.

I play cards I like when I like them, I would like to force my opponent to sacrifice his serra angel and then steal it from him with rise from the grave and hurt thy with her.

This cards seems alright to me. I have been play testing it in my B/G Zombie Vampires, although it's subtype isn't zombie :-/. Considering I'm running a total of 8 cards with a CMC of 4 and everything else is less it seems to fit quite well. running it with Gravecrawler and Geralf's Messenger, seems to work pretty well also. It helps with getting rid of those pesky hexproof guys *cough* Geist *cough*, while (most of the time), actually getting a creature advantage. Seems to fit well with the undying mechanic, and blood artist; but what doesn't really :-D.

Can't believe I haven't seen this yet. The extra 1 is a bit strange, but the fact that it's actually a decent creature by itself means it isn't just an inefficient Edict like Fleshbag Marauder is.

3/5. A 4/2 for 4 that kills an opponent's creature. Useful in limited but not much else.

Mikaeus, the Unhallowed likes seeing this thing enter the battlefield twice per cast, ending up 6/4, and triggering something else's undying on the second arrival.

Maybe Grixis control. Maybe.

This card works great with sheoldred and lumberknot
Have sheoldred out first then summon slum reaper and sacrifice slum reaper and then revive it next turn. Twice as many enemy sacrifices and lumberknot just gets bigger and bigger. You can make the opponent sacrifice 2 creatures each turn instead of just one and if you have corpsejack menace it will increase lumberknot even faster. This also works well with Champion of lambholt. Sacrifice and revive slum reaper and she gets more points each time slum reaper enters the battle field each turn.

I like it in my multiplayer reanimater deck, since I can just sac this guy and keep bringing him back for more

Sure, this doesn't fare well against token decks, but with all the fatties running around, it might not be unplayable. Bonus for being on curve with turn 2 Pack Rat.
Maybe I'm just being optimistic...
