Why hasn't this card been brought back in a base set? Why did M10 have to get Assassinate (useless censor) and not this beautiful killing spell?

This card owns Assassinate. I really hate how Assassinate isn't an instant, I mean seriously... I can only Assassinate someone during my turn. That is lame.

There is nothing beautiful about Death Stroke. It's not that powerful either - Unmake is where it's at.

As is Demonic Tutor in comparison to Diabolic Tutor or Lightning Bolt to Shock or Counterspell to Cancel.

The questions truly are:

1. Can you find these cards at your local card stores?
2. Are you willing to pay the price?

Sure, Unmake is about $1, pretty cheap, but Death Stroke is $0.25 or less, depending on your source.

It doesn't do the job as well as Royal Assassin does it. It's very funny that a card from 18 years ago is still relevant in today's magic games.

This is still a good card in my opinion. Sorcery speed can be a big hindrance, but it can take out nearly any creature for Black
