Not too terrible of a card (2/2 for 2 mana isn't the worst thing in the world), but that overpriced activated ability makes it feel much worse than it really is. It just feels badly designed, imo. Kessig Wolf may cost one more, but at least it feels "right" since you can use it in R/G werewolves as a place to spend your mana and gaining first strike is a much bigger deal on a 3/1 than it is for this guy.

I'm definitely not against seeing quasi-vanilla 2/2's for 1X, however I think the activation costs would be more than fine at one mana.

Bear is bear. I had Dryads in my limited deck without opposing forests just to have a bear. The activation felt right. I agree with others that at first glance it seemed too high, but after play it felt right and it was a fun use of design space.

I just have to shake my head that this is rated lower than Traveling Philosopher.

Honestly this is exactly what I think the power level of a 2 drop common should be; bear + unique but not too useful upside.
