This card is either very good or very bad. I'm still waiting to see how Fateful Hour is. I can't really remember too many times where I had just >=5 life left.

5/5 for the artwork, something 'bout that lady on the left that entices me ever so much.

There's gotta be something for Fateful Hour in Avacyn Restored. Like a fortune thief type effect.

I can't give this more than 4 stars because I'm doubtful this will see much play outside of limited, but it's still awesome, and Fateful Hour is going to change how people play Magic. How many times can I think of were my opponent (or I) have gotten down to five or less and just scooped? If your opponent has, or may have, fateful hour cards, there is not going to be an easy victory unless they get totally screwed (or you have a creature out early that's doing at least 7 damage per attack).
Also, I hope Magic keeps sending David Rapoza work. This really caught my eye, I checked and he's done a lot of other great art recently (Skinrender, Master's Call, Kruin Outlaw, Go for the Throat), a lot of strong work, if you ask me.

Survival skills, indeed: That's an awfully big Human.

This was a good beater at the prerelease. It won my my first couple of games. I love the art too. As for Fateful Hour, I had a hard time triggering it since I had to rely on taking hits from my opponent. I almost triggered it once but my opponent killed it. Still won though.

Damn, there's a lot of cute ladies in Dark Ascension! And not just more angels and vamps, either. I like a lot.
I like how vigilance can be about survival instincts in contrast to vigilance usually being about protecting others or something. As for the P/T, I think six desperate humans are roughly a match for a Gravetiller Wurm -assuming it hasn't had lunch yet.
@pedrodyl - A Fortune Thief effect or three in Avacyn Restored would be mega!

Great art. One of the more genuinely beautiful women in Magic, without the goofy "oh my chain mail bikini is coming loose tee hee" thing. But even more so than that, the facial expression is perfect at conveying that spooked, "wtf was that noise" feeling.
Good flavor, decent card, exceptional art. 4/5.

Green doesn't have much in the way of vigilance, and this is a good, reliable card. Don't count on the Fateful Hour triggering, though, unless you're about to lose. But the art... wow, Innistrad block really went out of its way to portray women as human beings, and not as pinups in chainmail bikinis. The spooked expression is amazing and haunting.

Fateful Hour aside, it's comparable to Serra Angel, which makes it okay in my book. Vigilance for everyone when you're under 5 might or might not be very useful, but it doesn't hurt to have it there.

5/5 for the art. Truly one of the best looking cards in the set. It's a good green card, and it's powerful enough to take a hit and keep going.

I'm going to say it.
I like this card. Love the flavor (blocker with strong power, vigilant) and I like green humans from these sets. I've had a lot of fun with Hamlet Captain too, from Innistrad.

I really like this one. Those trying to judge this card should forget the fateful hour thing; that's not important. As others have said, if you need the fateful hour effect, it won't save you.
However, the 4/5 vigilance for 5 means you have a big, solid blocker who can still swing every turn. It's an efficient threat on every turn, and that's always useful.

Played with this card for a while. Fateful hour won me one game, 4/5 vigilance for 5 mana won quite a few.

Dude on the right looks as cool as all hell, but a hood in a situation like that completely kills your peripheral vision.

@sonorhc I think you were being sacastic, but just in case you weren't, I think this card represents the group of humans, perhaps four of them. The extra toughness (normal humans have 1/1) is because of their survivial skills and humanty's natural strenght as a group
