Just tap two and sacrifice one of the tapped lands. I have seen this make a 1/1 Warren Instigator 7/7 with double strike by only sacrificing only three lands. And if the creature that has the counters from this card is sent from play to the graveyard one or another then just Fate Transfer those counters on another creature in play and laugh at their pitiful attempt. Not to mention this with Spikeshot Goblin is hilarious.

Proliferate with them Dwarfs and thier awesome counters sounds like a good deck idea.

Not bad. Turns unused lands into sizeable buffs for your creatures. Also, +2/+2 counters are awesome.

A reference to the mostly-forgotten Dwarven Weaponsmith. As with all land sacrifices, great with Crucible of Worlds, and also great with proliferate as Exclaimer999 said.

Another medium-card from the much-maligned Dwarf tribe...

Man, talk about strip-mining the land just to make weapons and armor...

To be honest, I'd rather this say "Put two +1/+1 counters on target creature." That way, there would be more syergy with things like Slumbering Dragon and Corpsejack Menace.

Not much of a fan of Richard Thomas' artwork, but this is one of his best pieces.... Along with Dread of Night and Air Elemental.

This card is also casual playable and kind of fun.

I can think of worse counters to proliferate. Helloooo, Contagion Engine!

Unfortunately this is much, much too expensive even if you can make use of it with proliferate.
To get anything started, your fee is 4RedRed and a land for a measly +2/+2 effect.

Even for a casting cost of Red this card probably wouldn't gather much attention.
(Although it could get useful in a Life of Loam deck then...)
