Wealth, power, material goods; Who ever said greed was a bad thing?

The Western Paladin looks comfy.

I love everything about this card;
The artwork is great, the flavour text is fun and the ability is very helpful (especially in decks where you easily gain more than 20 HP)

good flavor text.

The card also functions like a balanced necropotence.

Love the flavour text.

I want this card back. 2 Life is the fair price for drawing a card, and turning Rest for the Weary into Oppotunity sounds like a sweet deal.

combine with death's shadow... draw cards, lose life, and kill faster!

Is it a balanced Necropotence? I think it's just a faster Dark Tutelage. It's still a great card.

The Western Paladin? Feels more like the advisor was talking to Scrooge McDuck.

Words of Worship makes this card read "1Black: Gain 3 life." Alternately, "1BlackBlack: Draw a card and gain 1 life." Snazzy.

Also, cool flavor text.

Words of Worship?

Oh, oops, someone did that one.

For lack of a better word, this card is good. Art and flavor text are awesome, and the ability itself is great for black.

This card is very good. I would run with black lifelink creatures to heal the life loss.
Child of Night Vampire Nighthawk Markov Patrician are some examples that all happen to fit in the same tribe.

This is essentially a more expensive Yawgmoth's Bargain-esque card drawer for a cheaper CMC.

Is it better? Erm... arguable. 1 Life per card is very cheap, and thus is why the Bargain is banned in EDH. Greed, however, requires not only 2 life, but 1 black mana. Although, you still get a draw phase.

I like Greed, though. It provides another card drawing mechanic in EDH besides Phyrexian Arena (plus any others that I can't think of)

Fairly costed all around. A reasonable card, and allows for multiple draws per turn.

Words of Worship does help withstand the cost; however, you still have to have 2 life to begin with, so it's not exactly "{1}{B}: Gain 3 life and draw a card."

7th Edition huh? So this art comes in Black-Bordered Foil then? >:D

Sort of like Necropotence, but not unspeakably broken.

Brilliant Commander card. Two life is nothing, {b} is nothing, card advantage is everything.

@BongRipper420: It's a lot more like Yawgmoth's Bargain, really.

They increased Necropotence's mana cost, more than doubled it's activation cost and it's still ridiculously powerful. Fun times.

@Lifegainwithbite: This card was actually originally printed before Necropotence.

Also, the flavor text ought to quote Gordon Gekko:

"The point is, ladies and gentleman, that greed, for lack of a better word, is good."

Inexplicably printed in the same set as Necrologia.
