Pros like me know what a force unleash is going to be.

Wait. Wait, wait, wait. WAIT. So you're saying if I have five mana of two different colors I, too, can cast my very own vanilla 5/3? Wait, it can also turn into a 6/4 that can't block? Outstanding!
But seriously, don't play this ever.

Great art. Otherwise...

Not spectacular but I was surprised how much work it did at the prerelease.

if you haven't won by turn five when playing rakdos, you suck. That's just numbers, baby. It's true.

Meh... limited fodder. Oddly, red alone has a Giant in this set that is almost always better. It costs 1 less and has trample only to give up 1 point of power (it also has Unleash.)

@Radagast: you can't compare between rarities.

Commonly, in terms of limited Black creatures, there is Zombie Goliath, a 4/3 for . Not very good, but chooseable for limited (somewhat)
There was also Renegade Demon: a 5/3 vanilla creature that cost . Not very strong, but as you can see, the colour weight means something.
And now, there's this. Is this better? I can't bring myself to say yes. It can become a 6/4, but by turn 5+, unleashing isn't always the best idea: what if they get a tenement crasher out? What're you going to do, block with your unleashed Rakdos Cackler? Nice try mate, but that's not happening.
Even when going Rakdos/Jund/Grixis, I rarely pick this. The formerly mentioned Crasher has always been a better pick because you can block when the going gets tough, JUST IN CASE, and it's usually a low-pick.

I literally just searched Gatherer for "User Comment = Radagast" because I remembered there was someone on here that picked that name, and I picked a common card nobody cares too much about to say this:
@Radagast, "The Hobbit" does for you what "Fellowship of the Ring" SHOULD have done for Tom Bombadil. I do not think anyone who actually watches will think anything other than "Epic" "Worth It" in regards to the expansion of your character, which does not dominate or take away from other characters' roles in the least bit. You my friend, have a line which is the Best Line from a Wizard in All Six Films. Including "You Shall Not Pass". RHOSGOBEL RABBITS FTW!!!! :D (You have to have been there. xD) That's how Epic Ragast just became overnight. And it's still a movie almost 95% entirely about 13 Dwarves and The Hobbit. They just don't waste a second of your screen time.

Don't see why they didn't just drop Intimidate on it or something.
@Ferlord: Spawn is better than Renegade Demon (as it should be, being multicolor) because it at least gives you the option, as opposed to being vanilla. Though with how bad Demon is, that's not saying much.

Unleash doesn't seem to be worth it, for just a +1/+1 counter and not letting it block.

Cards like this really hit it home for me how underwhelming unleash is compared to every other new guild mechanic. This really couldn't have been scalable? Seriously? Imagine if devour wasn't scalable.
This could've been much, much more exciting.

And yet, even with everyone complaining about unleash's relative power, it's not like Rakdos performed poorly at any of the RTR prereleases I saw. This thing was a house in limited, which is what it was designed for, and I'm rating it 4/5 for that plus the art. :)
