This is a strange place for haste. Drudge Skeletons is much better in this role, but the haste will occasionally push that last point of damage through. Flash (a la Drudge Reavers) would have been a more useful way to say "Boo!"

I was hoping for more interesting skeletons than this.

Then they could have called it closet skeletons or something equally humorous.

@Nucleon: What kind of topsy-turvy world is this where Torgo has haste?

It's a strange mix of abilities, just as HuntingDrake says. Haste feels aggressive, while regeneration feels defensive. There are only two other creatures that have haste in the set - Falkenrath Marauders and Night Revelers - and the Night Revelers' haste is conditional... so maybe having one common creature with haste was important to R&D?
The art is phenomenal, as far as I'm concerned, so I sort of find myself wishing that he was a little more intimidating.

Meh, I think the original sketch would have been better for this card. For people who don't know what I am talking about, here is the link...
I donno, just looks more interesting to me then something with no background Ya, the creature looks better itself, but that's the problem. It's ONLY the creature at least the original sketch has some atmosphere to it?
I'm giving it 4.5/5 Awesome effect, but after seeing the original sketch, I think it woulda been better.

Haste is nice but the regeneration cost is to expensive.

The original sketch gives a hint of the skeleton's past life and the reason for his residing in a manor. Though it still doesn't explain the haste, unless his affinity to the location is empowering perhaps?

I agree with you, Tsunaki. It is a manor skeleton after all. In the original sketch we see a portrait on the wall behind him. I think if his skull was just turned and staring right at us like he is the final card it would show a nice compare and contrast of past alive and present dead.

"Haste" ...Wait, what? On this card? Flavor's not the only dead thing here.

Guys, he's a house servant. The Haste makes perfect sense flavor-wise.

@Tsunaki: I'll admit the first draft looks interesting as well, and the scene they went with is a bit more generic. But how can you imply that the current artwork does not have some atmosphere to it? It toally has!
Action: Show a skeleton creeping down the grand staircase in an abandoned, decrepit manor houses. He's holding a burning candle in a silver candleholder. He's wearing rotted clothing that hangs loosely off his bones.
Nailed it! It's gloomy gloomy, presumably nighttime, for some reason you felt like wandering into this this mansion (although the skeleton's clothes make it seem as if this happens on a ghost ship, which works just as well) and then suddenly this skeleton shows up, slowly walking down the stairs with this queer expression of what looks like some kind of glee, which just by looking at it let's you know that it wants to know why you're here.

Attacking with this guy with Death Baron and Bad Moon out is a fun idea.
