@yesnomu - they kind of did print Ancestral Bolt, though it's not nearly as obvious. Cerebral Vortex - let's say it got mixed up by Izzet shenanigans.

If that's how it looks to actually be gaining life, I'm really glad I don't play any life-gain. Also, ridiculous card that is seeing a lot of Modern play with Isochron Scepter.

@pedrodyl: So it would deal 3 damage, make your opponent discard 3 cards and make you draw 3 cards? It'd have to have like a converted mana cost of 7 or 8 0.0.

Really good card. Lots of options and not too broken. A lifeswing of 6 is good for 2 mana, not to mention killing a reasonably sized creature and gaining 3 life. Efficient spells like this make lifegain good. Awesome Flavortext as well.

I might be the only one who thinks so, but I would have liked to see it written as:

Lifelink
Lightning Helix deals 3 damage to target creature or player.

(Note: this is kinda like Puncture Blast)
I just think it looks more elegant this way.

Also, it makes it combo more with things like Pyromancer's Swath and, of course, Furnace of Rath.
