You play this while you build your storm count, so that you only have to build your storm count to six before Grapeshotting, which is very possible in draft.

@Xycolian: Past in Flames says "Challenge accepted."

It would seem strange for a burn player to build up mana for a while and play this and a bunch of burn cards in one turn, though. A topdecking Pyromancer would be interesting to see, but more often than not I just see this as another of Zedruu's toys.
