Gristleback was probably considered for this set. I wonder why it didn't make it in? Uncommon rarity and higher complexity are two reasons I can think of.

Hm... seems like some good eats :P Now, if only there was a way to increase the health from this... Maybe Pork BBQ Sauce? xD maybe? "Doubles the amount of health gained from sacrificed monster"
this is making me want to make a Lunch deck now lolzz

Yeah, sure it doesn't look so tough... Robert Baratheon thought the same thing.

I feel this card is underrated. Bottle Gnomes is rated at 4 stars. This may not be colorless, but here you get more life gain for the same cmc creature. I really like bringing this thing back with Sun Titan over and over again.

More useful than it may initially seem. With Innistrad, Green (and pretty much every color) has a lot of graveyard based mechanics, so a creature with the ability to sacrifice itself and get a small bonus is a lot more valuable. It's an easy way to pump up creatures like Lumberknot, Boneyard Wurm, and Splinterfright. Perhaps not the most efficient, but it could be useful in casual play.

Block and Sac, as SoulShatterer dictated, is the primary use of Brindy.
However, I always feel bad for a card when the flavour text is about the way humans abuse the creature. See Vastwood Gorger for another example.
And it also makes sense: people eat Boar, you gain health by killing it. It's cool (and possibly cruel?) that humans are using herded animals as attackers/blockers for their army.
PETA won't be happy about this...

The poor man's Kitchen Finks for Living End. It's more splashable, doesn't need to beat as much face, can be sacc'd at will, and often gains twice or 3x as much life as Finks does.
