A great addition to any deck in fact

Landwalk isn't played commonly enough to make this worthwhile...this card existed because Wizards was really wary about unblockability at the time...

This card also single-handedly made the cards from Legends like Quagmire and Deadfall 100% useless.

Worth considering for a sideboard spot.

@Draco
Not necessarily. Quagmire, Deadfall and the like can be used to prevent people from using landwalk against you (especially if you're playing mono-color) while probably allowing your own creatures to landwalk. The Staff is preferable if you're playing a deck with no landwalking creatures (which is most of them), but the older cards still have a narrow, additional use.

I think you mean terrible***. Only time it's useful is in EDH when people can moderately abuse landwalking abilities. Even then, I'd rather this be an Oblivion Stone.

Or, you could say, instead of a 3 cost artifact, use Hammerheim, which is a land, and might even surprise your opponent.

There is almost always something better to fill the slot in sideboard. There are uses for this, but there are alternative solutions (direct removal) and better options that make its super narrow use pointless. i think will pass.

Very good when combined with Erham Djinn

Really depends on the meta. With all the new zombies in Innistrad my Zombie Master has become crazy useful lately.

The biggest problem with deciding how useful this card is is the fact that so people actually use landwalk now, especially when there's plenty of ways to make a creature unblockable that don't require an opponent to have a certain type of land.

I think it's a good one to use... just not useful because there's never a reason to use it.

Nowadays, I find landwalk to be so rare that this really isn't that useful. Even if stapled to a creature at the same cost, this probably wouldn't see play.

Mostly useless, and the name really fails to match the card's ability in any way. "Of the ages" implies some sort of epic power or at least ability to resist destruction and last a long time; instead, we get a random card that hoses landwalkers.

I agree with longwinded. This is the trump landwalk hoser only if you are not using landwalk yourself.

Technically, it can't really be strictly worse than the Quagmire/Great Wall/etc. First of all, this is an artifact and those are enchantments, which is a pretty massive difference when considering what triggers off them. Additionally, colorless is generally better than colored, but (and this is really a dumb thing to say but it is an example), Crevasse works with Chandra Ablaze where this wouldn't (psst; use Fiery Temper instead for chandra decks). Finally, there's what everyone else has said; this lets you use your own landwalk.
