Does she have five legs???? Also, I like this guy. Color wheel manipulation is fun, and there's enough of it (red draw in particular) in this set I can get my wishful thinking train going and hope they make it a normal red mechanic.

1 colorless less is all it would take to make this guy a really solid card. I would gladly trade haste or a point of P or T for that.

Haste is good. Not sure if extra is worth it, but this means you can loot with him on the field straight away, or attack if you're desperate.

He'll be a good miracle enabler in limited.

This is the way you handle red looting, although I would have rather seen it as a 1/1 haste for 2R or even 1RR than this.

Was playing RW during prerelease and I got a lot of mileage out of this guy. If he were cheaper, he might see use in RDW to get rid of the extra lands in-hand in favour of a burn spell or finisher.

I think i do get the flavor behind the inversion of the usual habit of drawing the cards first and then discarding them, as with Thought Courier. This creates a slight disadvantage though, since you can't mill your top card if you have an empty hand.

turn 4- play this, discard griselbrand (or any other high cost card) turn 5- unburial rites. congratulations, you have a turn five griselbrand in standard. and if he should die then just flashback unburial rites to get him back.

or you can drop this turn 4, discard Gisela, and Defy Death on turn 5. And if you happen to have an unpaired Lightning Mauler in play, your swinging for 22.

Slick reference to Innistrad's Moon Heron right there.

Heron in the moon? I thought it was supposed to be a mare...

Just ran two of these in a BR aggro AVR draft deck, was surprised how often I just wanted these to hit the table and immediately start swinging for two. Won me at least two games that way. Made me really appreciate the haste and 2/2 body.

I give this guy mad props.

But seriously, good to see looting move to red. I'm sure we'll be seeing more red looting later and it'll be more powerful (look at Faithless Looting for a great example).

I love how this card portrays red really well; risking something for hopefully something better, just like the other red draw cards that appeared in the block :)

I absolutely love this guy for no good reason at all really. He is red looting though, which is one of my favorite things about this block. ♥

Tis a shame the discard is part of the cost, otherwise I'd be all over it. Still, not too shabby, and this side of Red does tend to not give a crap about what it's discarding anyways.
Or worse, it knows it'll still get to use whatever it's discarding, as this guy's name clues you into. Madness, anyone?

It's a start. I definitely hope red's looters get lower in mana cost, and even that the discarding of a card is removed from the cost (e.g., "Tap: Discard a card, draw a card" instead of this so that it works with empty hands more like red's Wheel of Fortune effects do. But even if that never happens, I will easily take worse-than-blue draw over nothing, as "just splash blue" is not always the solution for casual players - especially Commander ones who are forced by the color identity rule to their commander's colors and may not wish to change commanders to add blue card draw. After all, red looting is still mostly better than white's card draw!

The Haste is really nice on this guy, although as some people have said he'd be better as a 1/1 and with some CMC reduction.

This guy wasn't the greatest when he came out, but there's one place where he shines: Madness decks. If you're running a Madness/Unearth/Flashback deck, he becomes "T: Play a Madness card. Draw a card."

That's not bad for 4 mana, imo.
