For more, you get Fog with the bonus of having one of your creatures do its damage anyway. Plus a sweet giant spider and hilarious flavor text.

Warning: If you control no creatures and your opponent alpha-strikes you, it will be worse than Fog since you have to choose one of their creatures that still deals damage.
I had two of these at the pre-release today, nice combat trick. Though at times it becomes a bit less effective, when, for example, you play it to ensure your prize creature (Riders of Gavony in my case) kills a blocker without dying itself - your unblocked creatures will then fail to damage your opponent.
Greatest use against me?? Opponent attacks with everything (like 5 creatures, I just have two blockers), I grin evilly and play an 11-point (!!) Divine Deflection - and he uses this to neuter his attack and turn my Divine Deflection into a 1-point spell. :|

It's more scared of you than you are of it?
Yeah right.

When you look at the scale based on the width of the trees that is either a 20 foot tall spider or some fat trees and short people.... >.>

This has to be one of the best artworks in Restored. Hands down.

It's intended use is as a defensive fog, that will hopefully also take out one of their attackers. Worked really well in my {G}{W} prerelease deck with undying creatures and helped me stall out until I dropped Avacyn, Angel of Hope. Also, anyone know how this would interact with Precursor Golem? Would all three golems deal combat damage (awesome) or would it just be an overcosted Fog?

@lord of tresserhorn
my game is the complete opposite. i did an alpha attack but he did a divine deflection to my mvp creature. lo and behold. i terrified myself haha and damage was prevented. my creature lived and 1 creature got damage to go through.

I love it! Great art, and if you're attacked by anything from a swarm of token creatures to a pumped up dragon, you just slap this out and prevent all combat damage from creatures other than target creature, and there's nothing to say you can't make that target creature one that you control that isn't even in combat, so it's fog, but can be used in many other ways that fog can't be used, as others have stated on here already. Nice card!

It'd be better if the targeting was optional, that way you wouldn't get screwed over if your opponent responds by Doom Blade-ing your only creature.

If blocking doesn't do you any good, I like how you can play this on an opponent's creature not in combat, in order to mitigate the chances of fizzling (they would have to remove their own creature to counter it).

Given the number of spider-themed or related cards in this Innistrad Block, I'm surprised there was never a Legendary Spider card printed. Might have been a bit out of place, with all the focus on Werewolves, Vampires, Zombies, etc., but I still think it'd have matched the theme.
