I think Tangle is great. In an aggro deck, you should be able to outrace your opponent (you nullify TWO entire attacks, and leave their guys tapped so yours can get in twice. Just awesome). Just the threat of possibly having this in hand can make opponents play too cautiously(no alpha strikes), so it can do something even if you don't draw it! And of course, it keeps control/combo decks alive for another two turns. Pretty versatile for 1G!

One of my favorite green cards. Really messes my friends up when they attack full out.

Preventing damage is good, iritating preventing spell is even better.

Awesome tricky card, one of my favorites from Invasion, along Armadillo Cloak.

This should have been reprinted in some Duel Decks (like Garruk's), Planechase (the red-green one) or something similar. Maybe in the future?

One of my favorite fogs. All my friends use it's predecessor Spore Cloud, and I thought that was annoying.

When your opponent attacks, play Tangle. Next turn charge with your creatures!

My buddy asked me once what I'd do if he put this into his Isochron Scepter deck, so I punched him :)

Run a set of this alongside Moment's Peace, and you should be able to out-counterattack just about any opponent.

it's like fog and and a half-sleep mixed into one for only 2 mana.

Cards like this are why I run decks that:
-Make damage unpreventable
-Mill
-Kill in one hit

Mainly because if you can't do it all in one turn they're that many times more likely to pull this on you and cause the game to be a 0-8 health style game ya know?

So. Quick noob question... does Tangle mean that the creatures affected will only be tapped for the next turn or the rest of the game? tyvm for replies.

This is an all-time classic defensive card. I love it so much. It's scandalous that it's not been reprinted in Commander, Duel Decks, or anything. Bring it back!

To Masamune:

The lockdown only lasts for one turn.

(It works like this, in a 1-on-1 game:

Your opponent attacks, you play Tangle, and there can be no combat damage.

You take your turn (perhaps sending your creatures past your opponent's tapped creatures).

Your opponent takes her turn, but during her untap step, is unable to untap those of her creatures which had attacked during her previous turn (when you had played Tangle).

You take your turn (perhaps sending your creatures past your opponent's tapped creatures once more).

Your opponent takes her turn, if she still has life points, and is able to untap her creatures which are no longer affected by the Tangle in discussion.)
