Poor guy wouldn't seem so mediocre if Porcelain Legionnaire wasn't making the trollface at him. I'd rather play the Legionnaire in red; hell, I'd rather play the Legionnaire in red WEREWOLVES, which says something.

I liked this card...til Porcelain Legionnaire reminded me what 2 mana can get you.
This guy is pretty solid in limited. If your opponent has no second turn play (or third, depending), you get to thwack them in the face for 3. Worse case scenario is your first-striking 3-power guy isn't online right away, so, I reiterate, solid.

Yet another great piece of art wasted on a completely underwhelming card.

He's awesome in Limited, where 1-toughness creatures run rampant. The flip side is just gravy.

In practice, this never transformed for me during my opponent's next turn in the draft. It was still a brutal card. It would eventually flip in each game I got it out, and that keeps it relevant longer than you would expect. Works great in a red/White deck with Rally the Peasants .

An interesting counterpart to the out-of-standard Plated Geopede.

He fits the picture nicely, but it still feels a bit weird to have a smith that doesn't interact with artifacts somehow.
