Now you don't have to pay all that mana for Prized Unicorn when its only going to die anyways. Being a spirt to makes it a almost useful tribal type.

Kamigawa FTW. I was new when Kamigawa came out, and love it to death! I loved the ideas and the interesting mechanisms. I have a G/B spirit deck and it rocks!

Keep in mind, this guy comes from the block with effects that are VASTLY over the CMC they should be. Meanwhile, the ability of lure here justifies the 2 CMC here. The channel ability is a bit overcosted, but its there if you need it.

The channel ability works on your opponents' creatures too. Great for messing up multiplayer combat math.

Consider this with Deathtouch creatures or next to Virulent Swipe. Even just that can turn this guy into a 3-for-2, while giving you another +2 Deathtouch next turn.
