It fits the old flavour of the villainy between red and blue. Like many other old blue cards this one costs a hell of a lot of mana as well.

Great idea! This makes sense since my spell won't fizzle if i don't have to choose any targets then. Next time there are no Mountains in play and i have three blue mana open with this spell in hand, i will overwhelm my opponent with a devasting eruption!

This thing is such a hoser >< Mm...the only reason I can think of is for storm count, Mode...which...is pretty much useless...so yeah, I dunno @_@

This seems pretty good with Blood Moon, which is also in red, the primary colour of land destruction.
