Definitively a 'build around me' card. Possibly the best use would be as a finisher in a land destruction deck featuring Blue for sorcery-speed card draw, Boomerang and Eye of Nowhere. One-two punch is provided by Wildfire (also in 9th and can be found together in the theme deck).

Wow, I used to have a deck made around him just like that XD.
Awesome card.

Ironic that the fast (hasty) lhurgoyf eats the slow sorceries.

Green mana ramping/land-fetching sorceries will provide more than enough mana for the sweepers (wildfire as mentioned before) and deck-thinning to draw more sorceries. Not to mention all the sorcery-speed land destruction and terravore

My favourite rare in my first deck i bought. Good memories...
Anyway, as Guest... ugh.... I'm not documenting those numbers...... ANYWAY, as he/she said, this can work very well with a land destruction deck. It's not good if you use a lot of Lightning Bolts, but then that's the sacrifice you have to pay for. I also noticed that it also counts sorceries in your opponents graveyard, so you can give your opponent a rather nice surprise with this, especially with Haste.
Personally, this card is much better than its land-destruction counterpart, Detritivore. Although it destroys land, it is restricted already to non-basic ones. I know i don't play any, and my friends don't play any either, so it soon became useless.
God Hand: Mountain + Rite of Flame x4 + Faithless Looting + Magnivore + (loot into) Assault Strobe = Mmmm mmm good. At least 12 points on T1 can't be bad :)
