It'd be a killer back in pre-2010rules days. It's just average now. Both Sylvok and Vulshok replicas are better, IMO.

I think this card will emerge as a staple of artifact shennanigan decks featuring black. Very nice effect, and the sac can easily be used to feed the graveyard and/or setup easy recycling for lots of draw.
While a 5 mana Sign In Blood isn't too ideal, it does come on a 2/2 body, and it does have synergy with other cards in standard right now (Sun Titan, Mimic Vat, Prototype Portal, Nim Deathmantle). So it's not the worst card in the world, by far. In limited it's card draw - color restricted card draw, true, but any card draw in limited is usually nice (Sorceror's Strongbox saw play despite costing at *least* 6 mana, and Trigon of Thought is seeing play despite costing 11 mana for 3 cards over 3-4 turns).
Sign in Blood on a 2/2 Artifact creature body. Definitely one of the best Replica's.

I'd argue this Could be usable in constructed. 2/2 for 3 is ok, add nights whisper at instant speed. Sure. As zenzei pointed out, for example, it'd be nice w/ masticore

Overall a pretty awesome common. It's always done well for me in Scars block drafts, being a 2/2 body with an awesome activated ability. Being able to declare him as a blocker then popping him is always nice, or swinging for 2-4 damage before popping him is even better. The replicas in Scars are waaayyy better than the replicas from Original Mirrodin block. 4/5

This thing is great in EDH. Clamp him, hit for 3, then pay 2 to draw 4 and lose 2 life. Obviously not the best card in the format, but solid enough to be good. 4/5
