Soul sisters anyone? Maybe splash in a few artifacts?

Was working on it but it took a different turn. Feel free to discuss :)

Worst one of the cycle. +3 life is weaker then almost anything. And bear is tougher than this 'smith.

Should have done something useful, like removed a poison counter or something. :\

I'm the sort of guy who bends over backwards trying to find a use for every single card - but good grief is this an awful one. This poor sod (hahahah it's funny because he's a druid lawl - okay I'll stop now), he's giving away life in a set where far and away the most dangerous and aggressively costed mechanic is a way to kill someone without their life total mattering at all, and he has the nerve to charge mana for it? This card and Trigon of Mending are both horrible wastes of space in this set, all because MaRo somehow entirely incorrectly fixated on the idea that incurability was poison's primary shtick, and so tried to make up for the fact that poison can't be cured by making it as hard as possible for non-poison creatures to kill a player - except that all this lifegain is still not enough to turn back RDW or WW or most other powerful beatdowns, AND it's utterly useless against infect.dec so nobody in their right mind will even try it.

Well, you might be able to get away with it in a G/B deck if you put in Sanguine Bond. Otherwise, pray to Serra that your opponent is running a non-infect deck.

This is actually decent in limited, against non-infect decks of course. It really screws up fast white/red metalcraft.

WoW Haterz! LOL Nyways I Cant Find A Deck For It But Still Its Not Bad At All Plus I'm A Big Fan Of The Art. And Yeah Come To Think Of It His Ability Should Be Static Like Riddles And Pains. JMO

If you could repeat this ability to your hearts content for every artifact you cast this guy would be awesome.

I can't imagine that this would be too powerful if the life gain were free. Check out Painsmith. She gives a creature +2/+0 and deathtouch with no additional mana investment.

This guy is actually pretty awesome, given that his effect is an anti-bolt for any color of mana, but as is the case with many cards in larger cycles like this, this particular piece suffers from being in the wrong place at the wrong time. In casual or eternal it can be a fantastic piece of Green/Artificer decks, in Standard/Double Standard Extended he doesn't get a whole lot of love though.

Who cares about life total anymore?

In Scars of Mirrodin block, this guy would do much better if he did something to combat infect. Better mechanically and flavorfully IMO

Sure seems to get a lot of hate for a Goblin Piker with an upside.

Notice that a lot of the negative comments have to do with its utility in its block. It would have been more at home, at least functionally, in the Innistrad block.

So that's where the facehuggers came from. Good to know.
