Not as bad as Storm Crow.

I think you mean not as good as storm crow.

Wow, this card is ROUGH. 7 cost, and a forced discard to boot... AND you can't use it. Ouch.

.5/5

You can throw this in with every colour. Arifacts are always more expensive than contemporary colours and it's got banding. 7cc for a 5/5 would be too cheap, that's why it has the discard disadvantage. I would use them even now if I had any.

What is everyone talking about? Obviously they missed the banding. Or else they misclicked trying to 5-star it.

3/5 A shining beacon of what artifacts used to be.

Art is awful, is that supposed to be threatening? Mo' like Mishra's Pram.

kinda funny that razormane masticore is the opposite, its cheaper by two, doesnt have banding, and deals 3 damage to any creature instead of you if you discard a card or sac if you dont,

Bad, but funny art. I would have rated it 5/5 for the art, but then I read the ability. 3/5. And anyway, I thought Mishra had giant dragons?

Looks to me more like Mishra's Baby Carriage

Bazaar Trader, Donate, etc... Unlike most things with upkeep, this has no innate sacrifice outlet. Run some Rust tick in your deck to keep it tapped down. Then at each of their upkeeps it is take 3 or discard a card.

Not the greatest of combo's but it might be good for an EDH Zedruu deck.

if this was reprinted it'd be mythic

soooo awesomely broken!

and a discard engine to boot, I should play this in my mono red burn deck!

(it's sad that Mishra's Factorys and Workshops produced such trip)

Artifact Creatures were printed with colorless mana acceleration in mind back in the day, I believe. After all, this on turn three with Urza lands is pretty strong.

I'll discard a card to you if your name is Masticore or some variation thereof. Otherwise GTFO of my trade binder you Artifact Creature - Turd.

If this is an example of Mishra's war machines, it is no wonder Urza defeated him... poor guy...

Overcosted, painful, and very bad rare. All on top off bad art, 1/5 just because it has banding

Misra, you SUCK at making war machines.

At 5/5, this is easily the biggest banding creature ever printed.

Anyone notice the constellations in the background? Or the staircases, and the six tiny people operating eight tiny cannons?

People may scoff now, but this here is the precursor to Masticore.

To all who stumble upon this card: read the comments by Kirbster and DacenOctavio... such is the difference between those who have eyes that see, and those who do not.

Seriously tho, I loved the term "war machine" as a kid. I often maindecked this in the 90's.
