Not very good, but I'll play it in every Limited deck I can. It's a reasonably sized dude that you will be able to cast once you have 5 mana.

Works fine in a multicolor deck. 4/4 for 5 is not outrageous.

Not for constructed, unless we see some Golem love when we return to Mirrodin in the fall. But in limited, only green decks have something bigger at common.

The only use of vanilla creatures is to actually attack and block, right? So who are non-vanilla things so much more useful for attacking and blocking? Oh, right, because we need cards that disappoint people when they open a booster pack.
Nice flavor, though. But yes, vanilla creature is vanilla.

Golem solid like stone.

utter trash; not worth the cardboard it's printed on. which is too bad, since you just spent 20 cents on it if you purchased a booster. good for limited? who cares.
Could probably fit nicely into an Artifact deck with Etherium Sculptor and Mycosynth Golem. Otherwise, it's inferior to most of the other 5cmc and 4/4s you could be using.
Might see some more use in Scars, though.

Why did the golem get stoned?

A decent, solid card for limited. Should be a common, but I guess they didn't want every color to get common 4/4s for 5. I like the art and flavor text, as well.
I'm honestly surprised that it took this long for Magic to have a card named after something as classic as "stone golem," though.

I wish they'd just reprint ol' Obsi*** Golem, unautocardable though he may be.

Limited is where Magic brings in a majority of it's money. If you like this game, you should be greatful for healthy limited formats.

No one seems to realize that 4/4 for 5 mana is a very good deal. Most 4/4s are either rare cards with some ability that makes their CMC 7 or 8, or 4/4s have a catch like "Stone Golem comes onto the battlefield tapped". A 4/4 with a CMC of 5 with no ability is a strong card.

Hammer hands = flattened artificer. What golem wouldn't be angry if he couldn't pick anything up?

This card is good if your playing a lot of limited pools. In constructed its garbage. For the same price in constructed you can have a batterskull. Yes I just compared a mythic to an uncommon, in constructed it makes no difference.

So... This thing curves pretty nice at 4/4 for 5 colorless. It has no Drawbacks and solid Tribal support. On top of the artifact shenanigans. It's Killer in Golem and artifact decks, Pretty good deal in 4/5 colored decks and still a solid creature in most other decks. Pretty Solid if you ask me.

A nice straightforward card. Back then , this would have cost 6 or 7.

The flavor text doesn't make sense. Golems don't decide. Golems don't want. More importantly, it's hard to believe that the sculptor put his heart and soul into the creation of a golem which would kill him the instant it animates. That sculptor guy must be pretty crappy at golem-crafting.
