Back in my day, we didn't have those fancy equipping mono-artifacts that you kids have today. Back in my day, we had to pay mana EVERY TURN that we wanted to so much as HOLD a sword. Of course, those old swords were made from asbestos, so no one who used them ever lived for too long afterward... it was a simpler time. Things weren't as confusing as these days with your new-fangled Puresteel Paladins and your confusing Piston Sledges.

This would actually be pretty cool and useful if it could target your opponent's creatures as well. As it is, it sucks.
