Brass Man has always been fairly solid for a defender. The art is cool too, as you can see that part of him is flesh.

@Kryptnyt: Definitely agree! Back in the day, he blocked Savannah Lions and White Knights all day and lived to tell about it. He could even go on the offensive later in the game, if you need him to, which is more than can be said for the old walls.

I think the drawback is fair, considering that it's a 1/3 for one. Good at early game defense and can be used offensively late game.

Afraid not, Tetsu_tora. Observe: the gatherer textbox words it as a Beginning of Upkeep trigger. Only one untap for this fine blocker.

Green, and white could swing a 1/3 for C with no drawback. None of the other colors could though, and thus artifact can't get it either. This works in the other colors when you need a little breathing room, and don't want to play steel wall. I play it in my red attrition deck that has things like Spiteful Visions and Manabarbs. It is extremely castable, so you can be efficient with it, off of a turn two Everflowing Chalice for instance.
You used to be able to put fire whip on this and then during your upkeep you simply pay 1 for 1 damage. Oh how the mighty have fallen.

cheap blocker that gets to reap the rewards if it survives long enough for you to get a few splicers out. EDIT: nix that, coulda sworn he was ruled a golem and not a construct. still, not awful, and the art is cool.
