Unlike stylus you can use it for example in EDH / Commander. Steal the opponents general / commander, and then shuffle it into it's owners library.

Yeah, but... this is a Pawnshop. There aren't many of those running around in Magic. Also, it has a weathervane that represents the five colours in the cycle.
All that, and it's from Masques - what is probably the coolest set ever.

I don't really understand the utility of this card, but the artwork is really beautiful!
@Kirbster: Really? Masques was boring design, full of crap cards and a few slightly-better-than-average ones to avoid the backlash they got after Homelands. Some people stopped playing because of power creep, but I stopped after realizing how much Masques was like a Portal set. Didn't start playing again till Alara.

If you want to hurl a stolen creature into your opponent's library, use the stylus, as it always puts it on the bottom. If you're running a nonblue deck and need to bounce a permanent that you simply cannot afford to have stolen, then the pawnshop is actually better, since you may redraw that card sometime soon rather than have it sitting on the bottom of your library, Plus you get a shuffle. Very situational, but not totally useless.

You can't tuck a stolen permanent with the Styus because the Stylus only works with permanents you own. The Pawnshop works with anything you control.
I wish this would give you a better deal. Let you draw a card or gain some life or be some sort of random effect generator. As it is, it steals a permanent and doesn't give you anything for it. Not even The Old Man negotiates that hard!

I used to use this to tuck away any instants or sorceries I played before the effect resolves. Too bad it now says "permanents".
