This card is....ok....nothing special....maybe it should have cost GG instead or have been 2/3
cool art though

As much as I pooped on Grappler Spider in the last set, I have come to learn you have to appreciate what you're given to work with in Limited a lot more than Constructed.
In Limited this thing is fantastic. It eats the bombiest of bombs (including those big scary evil things and such that annihilate things), but outside of Limited it's terrible.
Still, I love me some green DT creatures and I'm happy to see it at common rarity so I don't have to scrape together Turntimber Basilisks in Limited early on.

The art is amazingly sick, but yeah Deadly Recluse or almost and deathtouch creature that costs less is better than this.

This card helped me a ton with the big levellers and Eldrazi at the prerelease.

Deathtouch is really good in a set filled with Eldrazi and levelers. This is pretty bad outside of limited, though.

I don't get what the deal is with deathtouchers recently, they just keep getting weaker. This dude is a joke compared to Thornweald Archer and even Deadly Recluse overshadows him.

Its because Deathtouch got much better since M10 (except against regeneration). Well...really non-deathtouch got *weaker*. Deathtouch can now split damage between multiple blockers. Non-deathtouch cannot.

deathtouch is always good. its weak but the ability to kill anything it hits is great. but first stike on this with hyena umbra and its unkillable, the second it deals damage it kills the creature so its extremely good sometimes. but what i like best about it is it's flavor text! "did i miss anything? ...toxic bones? seriously?"
I guess it's okay as a sacrifice to remove dangerous foes/threaten them.
lol at the "Toxic Bones? Seriously?"

Pretty nice in a block with such huge creatures, in other situations it still has great flavour text at least.

5/5 just for the flavour text.

Love the flavor text.
I wish I played Rise of the Eldrazi limited. The set was constructed rubbish but it seems very fun.

First strike, ping effects, electropotence style effects.
This is a great limited and solid casual card. There is no reason to complain about it or whine that it isn't GG or 1G or something.

kitsunewarlock: "Deathtouch can now split damage between multiple blockers. Non-deathtouch cannot."
This is so, so, so incredibly wrong. If I attack with another 2/2 for 3 CMC, say, a Borderland Ranger, and you block with two 1/1s, I split the damage from my 2/2 between your multiple blockers because my creature can deal more than lethal damage to the first creature I assign combat damage to. The only change in the deathtouch ruling at M10 was that they considered 1 damage from a source with deathtouch lethal damage because it is lethal damage. They updated the ruling to more fit with reality. But all creatures can split damage between multiple blockers after dealing lethal damage to the first creature in the combat damage assignment order.
That said, 3 mana for a deathtouch creature really isn't that bad. A 1/1 for 2 would certainly be better, because what you probably want this guy for is blocking, and without something silly like Echo Circlet, he will be blocking only one creature, so that 2 power is useless. But that 2 toughness makes him safer from a lot of damage than the popular Thornweald Archer is, which is why I prefer Deadly Recluse to the archer. This card is good, but still not as good as Deadly Recluse, or the combat trick that is Ambush Viper or the more legitimate removal that is Turntimber Basilisk.

Cast Pacifism on Daggerback Basilisk, you now have a Pacifist Daggerback Basilisk. Say that 5 times fast.

Solid "Grey Ogre" type creature. A fine contribution to the ranks of Basilisks. Not crazy about the flavor text, myself, to be honest. Seems a little too anachronistic.
