looks useful in limited to kill off eldrazi token spawns all at once.
Otherwise infest is probably better.

And Nausea was a bad name because...? Functional reprints lately are just striking me as odd. I mean, yes, yes, artifact creatures and the like can't flavourfully get sick, but note my comments on Essence Scatter. There will always be flavour offenders. Get over it, you can't fix them all. This set alone has a chariot that Walls can ride around in. No one cares that you can pull off absurdities like this. No one needs to explain why a kid in a frog suit (Glider Barin) makes the mighty Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker, so immensely happy (though maybe there's something he's not telling us). Please, Wizards. You don't need to "fix" any more cards. If you want a reprint, just reprint it.

definatly good for killing eldrazi spawn as well as getting past of those damned token decks, most elves, and vampires and making nocturnus that much easier to kill.

Not as good as Dry Spell . Which isn't used anyway because it doesn't hit for enough damage. WOTC needs to print more powerful creature abilities at lower mana cost and lower toughness to make a card like Dry Spell viable. 2 toughness creatures shouldn't have wacky abilities.

I'm just posting here to express my love for DoctorKenneth's comment here. I salute you, sir, you truly are a gentleman and a scholar.
to those who are getting annoyed at the renamed reprints:
its kinda genious for Wizards, saleswise. They "reprinting" cards under different names so other people who have (for example) Nausea, cant use it and instead must BUY shrivel (ik theres better examples of this). but the goal of wizards to to MAKE MONEY. they wont b making money by reprinting cards for them to be used again.
As for the actual reprints like Naturalize....hmmm....i guess wizards didnt want to be TOO cruel?

Don't worry, it happens to lots of guys.
Also, if it were an instant, it would help greatly against the turbo-land deck with Avenger of Zendikar, but as it is, they can drop a land during their turn and put the plants out of Shrivel range. It's a shame that Zealous Persecution is rotating out.

another reason for not making a reprint of a old card is so you can have more then 4 per deck, I see no problem with it
I hate you, masterofEtherium. Why do you post these things? Whenever I see a nasty comment, I look at the user and... it's always you. I've never seen one that's not you.
Nausea wouldn't fit with the theme of the set, and had pretty stupid flavour anyway. This is a good reprint.

@Guntz I'm pretty sure Wizards makes more money for themselves by making cohesive flavourful sets than it would by making functional reprints of 5 cent cards for no reason. Personally I prefer the image of Eldrazi "shriveling" populations to them killing everyone with a nasty bout of food poisoning. =p

@DoctorKenneth I use to wholeheartedly agree with you. Functional reprints purely for flavor seemed a bit excessive and borderline greedy (as you had to buy the new ones if you wanted to compete in T2) but then I started to play EDH. The Singleton formats love functional reprints (as long as it was a good card to start with) as you now can get past the restriction of only one per deck. Yeah, the fact we have 7 Grizzly Bears and 5 Gray Ogres is a bit ridiculous as not many players even look at those cards, much less play them. But I wouldn't mind playing a pair of these in a Mono- EDH if my play group was token heavy.

For an eldrazi themed, eldrazi looking spell, I don't think any eldrazi deck should even look at this thing.
Now, blasting your opponent's eldrazi spawn with this is amusing, but doesn't really fit flavor wise.
