Why the hell is everyone rating Chandra so low? She's an amazing planeswalker when used in the right decks. Hopefully some intelligent players will give her a better rating so that it averages out.

Meh, while her ultimate is impressive to say the least, her +1 and -X abilities are pretty subpar. She's far and away the worst planeswalker printed thus far.

In a serious offensive fire theme deck, Chandra Nalaar is an awesome card. Her last ability is especially spectacular, she is the second best planeswalker- if not the best.

Chandra seems to be one of the most versatile Planes walkers, and can easily be run 4x.
She has the most loyalty counters. 5 Mana for 6 damage is better than most red spells and kills most targets. Remove her last counters and just cast another to stack damage!
Her +1 is not the best but it will directly progress victory, or it can suppress enemy planes walkers!
Only Garuk has a faster ultimate ability requiring creatures in play and Sarkahn's dragons still take another turn to hit. If your opponent wont die they still wont have any creatures.
She is actually an amazing control card more than agro, as removal and a win condition. Chandra is HOT!

The best planeswalker in the set... Great artwork, she is really hot and will blow ur mind off... Her abilities are,,, well fire... Greatest ultimate in the 5 planeswalkers, its game over wen u activate her ultimate...

Advantage of playing Casual: This is pretty low in tournament, it wins in Casual!!! I still think it was worth an alternate art though; After reading Purifying Fire, I wonder what her actual hair looks like.

her hair is brown i read the comics she is the only planewalker i run in decks the rest ot me eman nothing ok everyone says the others are great but i use it here beyound and past her level i burn down a field destory all planeswalkers and found her man hostilty makeing tokens with lighting bolt and tar fire to defend her that can ultimatly kill of alomst anything ill willl leave that to you

I swear that every time that I activate Chandra's last ability, I can smell bacon sizzling over a flaming hot pan.

As a new player, I will always remember how excited I was to open up a booster and have her in. I quickly made a deck to use her and she's a lot a fun. And that's what MTG is all about. Having fun. :)

Don't look at her like a planeswalker, think of her as a versatile burn spell. 6 damage to a creature for 5 mana? Once-per-turn planeswalker-suppressor? What about a 5 mana spell for 12 damage to target player and 10 to all his creatures? It's like a sick Volcanic Fallout, or Pyroclasm, without having to ht your owm creatures. Don't compare with other planeswalkers, think of her as an amazing "charm" like burn spell with multiple uses.

Her most useful ability, in my opinion, is the fact that she is not as initially vulnerable as Jace or Garruk, both of whom can be taken out by a single burn spell when they first enter the field.

I wish they did the book promo with her instead of Jace.

Chandra's +1 ability is problematic.. how can a planeswalker damage a player if they cannot attack or defend per the rules?

If only there was a way to give her life link. Chandra is perfect in a good burn deck provided you can protect her.

the definitive best planeswalker on her own except for possibly Elspeth (chandra wins in 4 turns, 3 if im wrong that planeswalkers get summoning sickness like everything else), the other planeswalkers require a signifigant number of turns to work, or depend on creatures in play too much. Liliana also fails at being good because she assumes you and your opponent both have stocked graveyards, as does Chandra Ablaze

Nicol Bolas comes in third because of mana cost, otherwise he is very good with speed and abilities

Sorin Markov and Nissa Revane both are better the number of vampires/elves you have open to you, so while not being great, still are not bad in standard.

she has brown/orange eyes and red hair, not brown. she is slightly taller then average, and has yellowish skin. they go over the differences in detail in The Purifying Fire when she planeswalks back to Kephalai where her appearance is practically a giant flashing red arrow pointing to who she is and where she is. Everyone on Kephalai is white, blond, short and blue-eyed

Chandra is heavily underrated. She sees so little play because there isn't a deck that really needs her, not because she isn't a good card. Post-wrath, plopping down a Chandra and threatening her ultimate is amazing. She's repeatable removal against small creatures. She can blow up a Baneslayer Angel and stick around to ping them afterwards, and if they don't deal with her, she can blow up another creature later. She's one of the best planeswalkers at protecting herself. And because of her high starting loyalty, she's pretty tough to dispatch.

At least planeswalker control decks are running her as two-ofs. She deserves to be played more than she currently is.

very strong ultimate but the other abilities just suck. At least she starts with 6 loyality and only needs 8 for ultimate 4.5/5

Put her in my burn deck right away.
I used her in a combo with Jaya Ballard, Task Mage.
Had her up to 9 in loyalty. Put a Ensouled Scimitar on Jaya. Did the minus 8 which didn't kill my oponent. Then I had Jaya do her 6 damage to everyone, which won me that match.
She is so hot!

When I first saw Chandra, I was underwhelmed. I was a fool. Chandra is IMO the most powerful planeswalker printed. Chandra is a threat the enemy can't ignore.

As everyone else mentioned, she can suppress PW's, or just directly plink the enemy. She can blow up big guys at an efficient cost, and she can wipe the board (and often kill the opponent entirely) after just two turns of plinking. All the PWs have a place in various decks, but Chandra here, can be a good card to stuff in any deck that can tap for red.

Her +1 and -x abilities are a little subpar compared to other planeswalkers (Sorin's +2, Ajani's -2) but her ultimate helps make up for that and she truly is a very fun card to play

Chandra is on nasty piece of work especially for me who plays green mostly. and if you combine her last ability with Sorin's second ability its instant kill which can be done rather easily. You can call her junk if you want but the beauty of this game is every card has its uses.

Sure, the +1 ability isn't great, but honestly, she's one heck of a game ender via her ultimate, and you can buy one for around eight dollars!

Anyone else notice that she's wearing almost the same thing as Izzet Guildmage? Goggles, techno-bracers, and all.

I have a friend who mainly plays an elf deck and I mainly play a red creature/burn deck. He opened a zendikar booster and pulled out a Nissan, which was boding very ill for me. Then the very next day I bought 2 m10 boosters and pulled out this babe... talk about balancing the decks ;)
Love this one, if not dealt with, she quickly unleashes her devastating ultimate, and while charging she can even keep other planes walkers down, and she fits in any deck that has just a little red in it, and she is particularily hard to deal with, considering her high starting loyalty. AWESOME!

Chandra is one of the most powerfull plansewalker cards out there.
She has high starting loyalty which can help her survive long enough to build enough points and activate her ultimate attack.
Her first ability helps build up her loyalty while at the same time you can destroy your opponent's monsters or lower his life points.
Chandra's second ability is something like a Fireball aimed only at creatures. You can kill almost any creature simply by using Chandra's starting loyalty points.
Now it is time to activate her thir ability, her ultimate spell, and watch your opponent burn in cathartic flames allong with his creatures. It is something like a red version of Wrath of God. 10 points of damage to every creature is way too much and 10 points of damage to the life points of a player all in one turn is almost certain death. And even if your opponent survives Chandra's last ability he/she will be left without monsters (only lands) and with too little life points which makes it certain that you can win the duel in the followin 2 turns if not the turn Chandra's ability was activated.
Chandra is a must for burn decks and she is also a lifesaver. She has saved me a couple of times when i was playing against my friend's green deck and he started summoning big creatures early.
Chandra Nalaar is one of my favourite cards and she's also a powerful plansewalker

shes really good too bad it was in the prize booster packs oh well still went 3/4
i almost never use her second ability its too expensive and sometimes i wish her first was a tad faster
but her ultimate is probably the second most effective after jace the mind sculpter
i dont really like chandra ablaze needs to be in a burn deck really and shes too slow for a burn

While her Planeswalker cards are usually interesting, I hate Chandra for being the most one-dimensional of the neo-walkers, personalitywise. What's her personality? She burns stuff. And she's not even a cool or interesting pyromaniac, like Jaya Ballard. She's the most boring kind of pyromaniac one could design.

the only reason she's good is that she gets to an amazing final within 3 turns. her +1 and -x arent so good, but c'mon, bonfire of the damned for 10?! whoa.
but seriously, there are some way better planeswalkers around right now.. i mean forget about TMS, she's not even anywhere near karn liberated or nicol bolas, planeswalker...
